Close Up magazine

Close Up magazine

Close up is the world’s best informed sports and betting magazine, conceived to inform and entertain Ladbrokes’ 30,000 highest-staking customers, with a further 5,000 copies distributed to the bookmaker’s head office and its most prominent betting shops.

Close Up is published quarterly by Grand Parade on behalf of Ladbrokes. The magazine has received numerous awards since its launch in 2006, including Consumer Magazine of the Year at the 2008 Independent Publisher Awards, testament to the excellent work of the magazine’s editor and former sports editor of The Sunday Times, Nick Pitt, and the rest of the team at Grand Parade.

Regular contributors include the racing broadcaster and author Brough Scott, the Racing Post’s Tom Segal and the Mail on Sunday’s Jonathan Powell (all on racing); The Telegraph’s Kevin Garside (on F1 and football); Sunday Times European football correspondent Ian Hawkey (on European football); the Observer’s Rob Steen (on cricket) and sports photographer Chris Smith, a 30-year veteran of the Sunday Times, four-time Sports Photographer of the year and now head of that award’s judging panel.
